We have added this section for you in case you have some questions. These are the most common ones we get.
I CANT FIND AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE
In this case the Therapist is either fully booked or does not accept NEW patients at this time. The best thing is to add yourself to the waitlist, you can do this by clicking Book with ….. and the system will guide you. If you are an existing Patient and in pain please contact your RMT directly via e mail or text. The Therapists will let you know when booking is open again. It is best to book ahead for the 6 month time period.
CANCELATIONS/MISSED APPOINTMENTS
If you have to cancel your appointment please give us 24hours notice. By phone or online We require at least 24 hours notice for massage appointment cancellations so that we can try to fill the space. Should an appointment be cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, 50% of the scheduled appointment fee will apply. Should an appointment be missed entirely without any notice, the full appointment fee will apply.
DRAPING DURING THE MASSAGE
Only the part of your body that is being worked on will be undraped all other parts will be draped at all times. We create a very safe, private environment and give great attention to proper draping. We recognize and respect cultural and personal attitudes towards disrobing. If you have nay concerns please speak with your therapist.
ALLERGIES
During your treatment the RMT may choose to use oils and or creams, we carry only high end creams and oils and can offer hypoallergenic products. Please let your RMT know of any sensitivities you may have.
WHAT TYPE OF MASSAGE IS BEST FOR ME?
With a proper assessment being done prior to your massage the therapist will have a better idea on how to approach a treatment plan unique to you. Each therapist has their own unique style and expertise that is tailored specifically towards your needs. Each session may incorporate a variety of different methods and techniques.
DO I NEED TO TIP?
Tips are not expected or encouraged. If you are satisfied with your treatment, referring friends and family members is more valuable to us than tips.
MSP PREMIUM ASSISTANCE
If you are unsure whether you are covered under MSP, we are able to check using your care card number and birthday. However, MSP will only reimburse $23.00 per visit, up to 10 visits a year. These 10 visits are shared between several medical services including appointments with your Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Naturopaths, and others. Your therapist will send a receipt to MSP, and they will send a cheque back to you for $23.00 in approximately 4-6 weeks after your treatment.
DO I NEED A DOCTOR REFERRAL ?
No, you do not need a Doctors referral to receive Massage Therapy. However, some insurance providers, including ICBC, require a doctor’s referral in order to be reimbursed for Massage Therapy services. If you are unsure whether your provider requires a doctor’s referral, it is strongly encouraged that you confirm this with them before booking an appointment
LATE ARRIVALS
We request that you arrive punctually for appointments and classes. If you arrive late for an appointment, we will have to shorten the treatment time accordingly and the remainder of your time will be used to its best advantage. The session will end at the time scheduled so that the practitioner can be prompt and prepared for upcoming patients. The full cost of the session is expected.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
We are currently accepting the following payment methods. Cash, check and Credit Card (online only). You can store your CC on line securely and we can process after your treatment you may choose to pay prior to your appointment.
DIRECT BILLING
We will provide you with a receipt for making an insurance claim after a massage treatment has been provided and paid for. Insurance receipts are issued according to the guidelines of the College of Massage Therapists of BC and are given only in the name of the person receiving the treatment for the date of the actual treatment. We are currently not offering direct billing but are working on offering this option in the near future.
WHAT ARE THE RATES FOR ICBC/WCB
ICBC patients will be required to pay for their treatments at the time of the appointment. They may then submit the receipts to ICBC/adjustor/lawyer to be reimbursed. ICBC patients do NOT require a Doctor’s referral for the FIRST 12 treatments. Remember to confirm your coverage with ICBC before booking an appointment, and have your doctor’s referral and adjustor information on hand for your first session. Please note that due to the more detailed nature of ICBC cases, more assessment is involved in your initial treatment. Therefore, all initial ICBC appointment must be one hour (or longer) in length.
We do not currently accept patients covered under WCB claims. Patients WCB claims are welcomed to see a Massage Therapist for a private visit, but will not recieve reimbursement from WCB. Talk to your WCB contact to find a clinic that accepts these claims
